Minutes:
Ms. Lesley told the team that they liked the Simulation program and that the team is working on the right track.
Team explained the functionality that will be added to the Simulation program.
The ResourceFinder application will have 4 major functions- Creating a location, Adding resources to locations, Calibrating the description for individual physical resource, searching with X1 or ResorceFinder.
Team then explained each feature:
Creating locations : Each room will have various storage types like Bookshelf, steel cabinet, etc.
Storage type will have optional description i.e. location of the storage type, color etc.
Each room and storage type will have a unique identifier, name or number.
Adding resources :
User will be given options for adding various physical resources like Slides, articles, documents, etc.
Depending on the Storage type that user selects, the further options will be
changed like-
** If user selects storage type as 'Steel cabinet', then the user will have options to store the article in hanging folder or manila folder. On selecting the option for hanging or manila folder, user will have to enter the name or number for it.
** If user selects 'Bookshelf' as storage type, then the user will have to enter the bookshelf number to identify that on which shelf the physical resource will be stored.
Calibration :
User will have option to calibrate the description he/she enters for the physical resource. User will enter the number of target hits and the system will display if the number of hits are reached.
User can determine whether to save the description or not.
Search :
Team told Ms. Lesley that they are working on the issues regarding using X1 SDK.
If X1 SDK becomes available for modifications then the team will add the 'web' option to X1.
If X1 SDK is not available, then the team will add the search option to 'ResourceFinder' which will
have options to search on the internet and intranet.
Ms. Lesley and team agreed that each physical resource will be stored with a unique number. A numbered sticker will be put on the physical resources.
Ms. Lesley will provide the current storage types present in their office.
